John J. Williams, of Marshfield, died suddenly at home on May 30, 2013. Beloved husband of Joan (Schan) Williams. Loving father of Jane Williams Righter and her husband Bill, of Carver, Ed and his wife, Ann, of Choctaw OK, Karen Williams Peterson and her husband, David, of Greeneville, TN, Nancy Williams Dick and her husband, Philip, of Marshfield. He was also the father of the late John (Jay) Williams and Susan Williams Stanewick. John also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Nicolette Williams and his great- granddaughter, Ceanna of Dublin CA , Greg and his wife Emily of Peabody, Joseph Righter and Amy Righter of Carver, Jonathan Holman and his wife, Jennilee, of San Diego CA, Keith Holman of North Port, FL, and Keri Anne Holman of Greeneville, TN. John is also survived by his brothers, Frederick and wife, Betty of Canton, Leonard and his wife, Holly of Plymouth and Paul and his wife, Susan of Marshfield and the late George and Joan Williams of Marshfield. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews and devoted friends. John was born in Boston on July 7, 1933, son of George and Anna Williams. Graduated from Cathedral High School in 1951. Served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict then attended Northeastern University. Married his wife, Joan (Schan) Williams in 1955, moved to Marshfield in 1956. Helped to establish Williams Brother’s Builders with his late brother, George Williams. John served as President of Marshfield Kiwanis from l979-l980. He and his brother built many homes in the Marshfield and Carver Area, noted for their excellent work. John and Joan spent many winters in Marco Island and Naples, FL. They enjoyed traveling together to many countries and across the United States, visiting friends and relatives. Recently they were able to visit family in TN and KY.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 4 -8 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St., Rte. 3A in Marshfield.

Comeau, Mary A. of Marshfield, passed away on June 1, 2013 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of 67 years of Norbert Comeau. Loving mother of Norbert J. Comeau and his companion Linda Maede of Marshfield, Jeffery J. Comeau and his wife Linda of Strathum, NH and Jan M. Tedeschi and her husband Mark of Marshfield. Loving grandmother of Justin, Michelle, Jeffery, Michael, Kristopher, Jason and Sean. Daughter of the late Ulick P. and Mary (Eagen) Maher.
Mary graduated from Watertown High School in 1942. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at Union Market National Bank. Mary married in 1946 and was a devoted wife and mother of three. Mary, or “May,” was most known for her extensive work in the field of addiction having been a delegate for World Service and the Director of Alcohol Rehabilitation at Middlesex County Hospital. Mary was an avid gardner. She enjoyed fishing and the ocean, having spent her life summering in Green Harbor, Marshfield. During retirement, Mary enjoyed winter vacations in Florida with her husband. Along with her continued support and commitment to those suffering from addiction, Mary most loved spending time with her husband, children and 7 grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte 139 in Marshfield on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Logan, Louise L. of Marshfield, passed away on May 31, 2013 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Richard D. Logan. Loving mother of Suzanne Logan-Medeiros and her husband Bob Medeiros of Fall River, Thomas Logan of Humarock and the late Michael Logan. Loving grandmother of Patrick and Bridget Logan, Danny and Joey Wolfgang, Heather Medeiros and Timmy Leonard. Dear sister of John O’Toole and his wife Lydia of Arlington and the late Sr. Ruth Michael O’Toole, O.P. Dear mother in law of Maggie Jakvblak of CT and Tom Wolfgang of Duxbury. Dear sister in law of Alice Ekberg of Bourne and Bill Logan of FL. Daughter of the late John B. and Ruth O’Toole.
Louise practiced nursing for 60 years. She was on the Hanover Bowling League for 40 years. Louise was a volunteer CCD teacher at St. Christine’s Church, a volunteer at MHS Friends of Music and also a volunteer nurse for Marshfield Schools. Louise was life member of the Marshfield Yacht Club.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Paul graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1972 and Northeastern University. He was Assistant Vice President and a Commercial Appraiser at Rockland Trust Bank. Paul was a member of the Marshfield Elks. He was the announcer for Marshfield Youth Football for many years and coached various sports in town.

Deborah L. O’Brien, 57, of Marshfield, passed peacefully into heaven on June 9, at home surrounded by loving family, after a 10-month battle with cancer. She was the treasured wife and best friend of Dan O’Brien and the beloved “worlds coolest Mom” to J.Mitch O’Brien of Marshfield, Dani O’Brien of Northampton, Jesse Plaud of Grafton, Jason Plaud of Norwood and Jay O’Brien and his wife Rie of Revere. She is also survived by her mother and father, Linda and Richard Giguere of Gilford, NH, as well as her sister Tammy Stone of Webster, MA. She had a very close knit family consisting of many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as in-laws who were all held dearly in her heart.

During their 31 years of marriage Deborah and Dan lived in Worcester, Spencer, Danielson, CT, Holliston and Brant Rock prior to moving to Marshfield Hills last year. After graduating from Quinsigamond Community College she worked as a licensed social worker in a variety of roles involving teen moms, child literacy and other social service activities.

People mattered to Deborah, and she took time to listen to them, remembering many details about her extensive network of dear friends. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Brant Rock. She also had offered up her home and her time to be a foster parent.

Visiting hours will be this Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church in Brant Rock.

The funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM also at Victory Baptist Church.

Mary J. Centola Zdankowski peacefully passed away at her Marshfield home on Wednesday June 12, she was 91. Mary was born February 11, 1922 in Brighton, Mass to the late Lawrence and Mary Centola. Mary graduated from Brighton High School in 1940. Upon graduation she worked at S.S.Pierce then at the Charlestown Navy Yard during World War II as a bookkeeper in the supply department. Later Mary was employed at the Special Tool Company in South Boston where she met her best friend and husband of 57 years. Mary and Joseph moved to Quincy where they raised their 5 children, Joseph Jr. of Marshfield, MA, Julia Hoefel of Williston, VT, Jean Cleary of Edgartown, MA, Janet Federspiel of Pembroke, MA and Jo-Ann Cavalear of Pembroke, MA. When the children were all of school age Mary worked in the Quincy School Lunch Program. In Mary’s later years she and Joseph were able to travel as they wished, a trip to Spain, a cruise,hopping a train across country, or going on a road trip. Most of all Mary loved her Beach House in Marshfield where she would crochet her hand towels and enjoy her Grandchildren during the summer visits. Mary is survived by her husband Joseph, her 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mary will be missed by all those who love her.

MITCHELL, GARY, 61, of Marshfield, Ma. died suddenly Wednesday, June 19, of complications from heart surgery. He was surrounded by his family & closest friends. Born in Laconia, NH, July 25, 1951 to his dear parents Elizabeth & Walter “Kim” Mitchell, he was the youngest of four children. Gary was a proud graduate of The Culinary Institute of America & spent 35 years as the Corporate Executive Chef & VP of Food Operations for The Back Bay Restaurant Group. Most recently, Gary pursued an opportunity with Tuscan Brands, continuing his passion of developing tremendous culinary concepts. An incredible man who impacted hundreds of lives; creating great food, life long friendships & unforgettable memories were just a few of Gary’s talents. He will be missed terribly by his adoring family; wife Keri, daughter Ashley & her husband Chris, son Ryan as well as his brothers Jeff & Rodney. A wake will be held on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON from 4 to 8 PM. Mary Elizabeth McKeown, of Plymouth formerly of Marshfield, died on June 24th at Bay Path at Duxbury at the age of 63. She is survived by her loving children Kelly McKeown and her fiancé Jason Costantino of Plymouth, Russell McKeown III and his wife Kara of Plymouth, Elizabeth Varady and her significant other Ray Gifford of Highland Park, NJ and Scott McKeown of Plymouth. She also leaves her 3 cherished grandchildren Shea and Caleb McKeown and Gianna Varady; her brothers Kenneth Rand of ME and Robert Rand of Hyde Park and her sisters Eileen McNeil of Plymouth, Janet Bly of Scand Robin Anderson of ME. She also leaves her former husband and good friend Russell McKeown Jr and his children Staci and Kevin; and her partner Jim Burbank and his children Dawn Wallace and James Burbank, their spouses and their children.
Mary was born in Weymouth and graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. She has lived in Plymouth for over 38 years after living for many years in Marshfield. She was the owner of the Indian River Inn in Plymouth for over 18 years. She enjoyed photography, reading, scrapbooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 28th at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 27th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Neurology Department, 165 Cambridge St, Boston, MA 02114.

Alice was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. She graduated from Dorchester High School for girls. Alice summered in Marshfield in the 30’s and 40’s and moved there permanently in 1949. Alice enjoyed watching the birds and her Flower Garden. She also volunteered her time at Marshfield High School planning for “Grad Nite Live” and helping out in the Front Office.

Coghlan, Maurice P. Jr., “Randy” of Marshfield, passed away on June 26, 2013 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Doris Coghlan for 72 years. Loving father of Richard J. Coghlan and his wife Michelle of Bourne, Robert M. Coghlan and his wife Elizabeth of Milton and Maureen P. Canty and her husband Paul Sr. of Duxbury. Loving grandfather of Paul (PJ) Canty and his wife Heather of Duxbury and Brian Coghlan of Hingham. Loving great grandfather of Hannah, Lily and Caroline. Dear brother of Ann Elizabeth Baker of Marshfield and the late Jane Shanley. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Son of the late Maurice P. and Mary Elizabeth (Murphy) Coghlan.

In the 1950’s Randy was the general manager of Avis, Boston, then moved to general manager of Hertz, Northern New England. He attended senior management courses across the country. Randy was the founder of Northeast Auto Truck Leasing Company, owner of Ford/Rambler Automobile Agency located in Scituate Harbor and the general manager of Stanley Leasing, Montreal, Canada.

From the 1960s and forward Randy moved to Marshfield beginning a lifelong career change to law enforcement. For a number of years he was a member of the Marshfield Police Department, prior to joining the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department. Randy became a member of the Silver Hair legislature to the senate. He was appointed special liaison for the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department to the County Police Chief’s Association and was active until his passing.

Carmella (Santillo) Roy Kearsley formerly of Marshfield, a homemaker, died July 3, 2013 after a short illness. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Kearsley moved to Massachusetts with her first husband, Roland P. Roy. After his death she moved to Norwell after marrying the late Richard B. Kearsley 16 years ago. Mrs. Kearsley went back to college in 1996 and graduated summa cum laude, in 2000 with an English degree at UMass Boston. She went on to study for a MA and graduated in December 2005, summa cum laude. She was a creative writer of poetry and short stories. Mrs. Kearsley is survived by her daughter Marie Harrington of Marshfield and son Robert A. Roy and his wife Kimberly of Pembroke, three grandchildren, Erika, McKenzie and Jordan Roy, one brother, three sisters and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her dear grandson Michael Harrington.

Harwood, Louise Agnes (Dooley), of Marshfield, died July 7, 20l3, at her home , at the age of 90. Daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Chisholm) Dooley. Wife of the late James Harwood. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Louise was born in Everett. She was an administrator for an engineering firm .

Sullivan, Joseph P. Jr. of Holden, July 3, unexpectedly at the age of 61.Beloved husband of Katrina A. (Rowe) Sullivan. Loving father of Patrick J. Sullivan of Holden, Conor Sullivan of Austin, TX and Brendan Sullivan of Holden. Son of the late Joseph P. and Dorothy R. (Coughlin) Sullivan. Dear brother of Brian Sullivan and his wife Diane of Rye, NH, Joan Marie Broderick and her husband Mark of Westwood, Maryellen Sullivan of Medford and Kerry Sullivan of Woodland, CA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A born lineman,Joseph poured his heart into football and he was rewarded in l970 when he was named All State at his high school in Cherry Hill, N.J. Heavily recruited he went on to play for Boston College prior to being drafted into the NFL in l974. He enjoyed a brief career with several teams, traveling the country and acquiring a mountain of friends with the charisma that was his defining attribute. He eventually settled in Florida for a time where he met his lovely wife, Katrina. Joseph taught middle school mathematics and completed a Master’s degree from Worchester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Joseph was active in the community, coaching his sons in several sports and leading them through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was also more than happy to stop by with his snow blower.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St. in Marshfield at 9:00 a.m.

Wilhelmina F. Angley

A woman of deep spirit, wisdom, generosity, and bravery, Wilhelmina F. (Kirkwood) Angley, “Willy”, 74, died Tuesday July 9th 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her children Kelly Angley-Dolloff, John H. Angley IV and wife Christine, and Adam C. Angley and wife Carrie.

An amazing Mother and Grandmother, Willy lived for her family of three children and seven grandchildren. Other loves included the sun, the beach, delicious food, dear friends, dancing, and the New England Patriots.

Willy was the first valedictorian and class president of Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, MA and attended Ladycliff College, Mass General School of Nursing, and Stonehill College. Guided by her entrepreneurial spirit, Willy was not afraid to bet the house, and she did. A survivor and shrewd businesswoman, Willy thrived in many different pursuits— from running a dental practice, restaurant ownership, retail and wholesale woman’s shoes, to bartending and floral design.

A free spirited, positive life force, and fantastic listener, who treated all with respect, Willy believed that most could do anything, and she made you believe it too. Equally impressive was Willy’s gift for the moment that seemed to be continually filled with frequent and deep laughter.

Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 2 to 6pm. Funeral Mass at Brant Rock Union Chapel, 327 Ocean St., Brant Rock, MA 02050 on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 4pm.

Tice, Rita of Marshfield, passed away on July 11, 2013 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Gordon M. Tice. Loving mother of Janet Leigh and her husband Charles of Marshfield, Gordon Tice Jr. and his wife Linda of Halifax, Sandra Woodward and her husband Thomas of Hanover, Claudette Tice of Marshfield and Robert Tice of Marshfield. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Aime Caza. Daughter of the late Doctor Olivier and Alma (Latreille) Caza. Rita was born and raised in Maine. She graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy. Rita moved to Marshfield in 1963. She was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
