McCarthy, Joan M. (Gorman) of Marshfield, formerly of Quincy, passed away June 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Loving mother of Patti Picco and her husband, Tim, and Maureen Joyce and her husband, Daniel all of Marshfield, Michael McCarthy and his wife, Ellen of Hanover, and the late Carol Ann McCarthy, her precious daughter, whom she has greatly missed.

Sister of Virginia Normandin of Weymouth, Ann Mulcahy of Mashpee, Edward Gorman of New Hampshire and the late Janice Gorman.

Cherished Nana Joanie to Abby, Michael, Olivia, Samuel, Jenna, Steven, Danielle, Jillian, Colin, and Carly. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her many dear friends at Proprietors Green in Marshfield.

Until her retirement, Joan had worked for over thirty years at Venus Wafers, Inc in Hingham and considered the Barmakian Family an extension of her own.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM.

Burial will follow in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02114.

Marshfield, Edna E. McGrath (Allen), 88, formerly of Hyde Park, passed peacefully July 2, 2012.
Edna was a member of St. Ann’s Church and craft group, member of the Sixty Plus Club, Marshfield and Kingston Council of Aging, AARP, and volunteer for many years at the Marshfield Senior Center. Edna worked at Scituate Orthodontics before retiring. She was an avid reader, very interested in town politics, and felt very strongly about the direction of Marshfield’s future. Wife of the late Anthony Leo McGrath, she is survived by her devoted family, Robert A. and his wife Maryellen of Londonderry, NH; Richard L. and his wife Marie of Norwell, MA, James A. of Boston, MA, daughters, Janice M. of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Jeanne R. Oliver and her husband, Lawrence, of Kingston, MA, brother, Richard Allen of Norwood, MA and Carol Mannion of Abington MA, and late Arlyne Kapust of Rockville, MA She also was loved and will be missed by her 9 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.

McNamara, Thomas H. Jr., of Marshfield, July 2, 2012 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Margaret (McDonald) McNamara. Brother of the late Ann M. McNamara. Brother in law of Claire McDonald CSJ of Brighton and Philip A. McDonald of Arlington. Son of the late Thomas H. and Kathryn (Goff) McNamara. Thomas was born and raised in Danvers. He was a graduate of St. Johns Preparatory School and St. Johns Seminary 1957. Thomas summered in Marshfield for his entire life before moving there permanently in 1984 with Margaret.

Jones, Martha Drinkwater of Brant Rock, MA formerly of Duxbury, died at home on July 12, 2012. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, grew up in Marblehead and graduated from Wayland High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College, masters’ degree from Tufts University and advanced studies at Boston College. Her teaching career began in Wellesley and returned to Bridgewater as Assistant to Dr. Ellen Shea, Dean of Students in 1966. She devoted her professional life to Bridgewater as a strong advocate for students. Past president of Bridgewater State University Alumni Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Scholarship Committees, Bridgewater Savings Bank, Thursday Club and many professional organizations.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel on the Bridgewtaer State University Campus on August 15, 2012 at four o’clock in the afternoon.
She is survived by Jack Jones and many wonderful family members and friends.

Loving father of Joanne Ash and her husband Patrick Pickup of Marshfield and Judi Lemoine and her husband Kevin of Norwell. Dear grandfather of James Hutchinson, and William and Daniel Lemoine. Brother of the late Edward, John, George and Frederick Ash.
William was raised in South Boston and moved to Marshfield in 1963. He retired from the Boston Police Department after 37 years of dedicated service. After his retirement William worked at the South Boston Postal Annex for many years. William served in the US Navy during WW II.

Cousin of Walter Fitzgerald, John Scolponeti, Jospeh Scolponeti, Paula Blasier and Marlene Brown. Daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (McCarron) Scolponeti. Joanie graduated from Girls High School in Boston and she received her Bachelors Degree from Boston Teachers College. Joanie taught kindergarten for the Boston school system for 28 years. Joanie devoted over 50 years to Marshfield History. She served as a member of the Historical Commission on the Board of Directors of the Historical Society and the Winslow House Association, all of which she served as Secretary. Joanie was a member of the Daniel Webster Trust and was instrumental in having the Webster property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. She was also a long time member of the Marshfield Republican Town Committee. Joanie wrote the history of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she was a communicant for many years and was on their 50th Anniversary Committee.

Huddleston, Herman H. “Hud” of Marshfield, August 2, 2012 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Josephine Marie Huddleston for 68 years. Loving and proud father of Harry Huddleston and his wife Joanne of Braintree, Dennis Huddleston of Green Harbor and Paul Huddleston of Plymouth. Loving and proud grandfather of Thomas Patrick Huddleston of Braintree, Joshua Paul Huddleston of Scituate and Ginger Marisa Huddleston of Rockland. Son of the late Harry and Bessie Mae (Clark) Huddleston. Hud was predeceased by one brother and five sisters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hud was born and raised in Mississippi and graduated from Lambert High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Hud and Josephine Marie married in 1944 and moved to Tennessee. They moved to Marshfield in 1965. Hud was the past manager of Davenports Cleaners in Marshfield. Hud was a member of Duxbury Baptist Church and sang in the choir. He was a volunteer at the Marshfield Senior Center. Hud loved his family and God’s green earth.

Devoted father of Cheryl LaVallee and her husband Michael of Carver and Kevin Critch and his wife Amy of Carver. Loving grandfather of Ryan, Sean and Kyle LaVallee and Kendall Critch. All of which gave him so much joy. Son of the late Charles W. Critch and Josephine Parsons Critch. Also survived by siblings Doris Bertino and her husband Eddie of Kingston, Charles Critch and his wife Ruth of Duxbury, Catherine Boyce and the late Eddie Boyce of Weymouth and Mary Barry and her husband Joe of Quincy along with many nieces and nephews that he loved. Frederick was an incredible husband, dad and grandfather (Grampy). He always had a smile for everyone. Frederick worked as a shipping and traffic supervisor at Dynagraf of Canton, formerly known R&S of South Boston, for many years.

Sheehy, Reverend Charles I., 94, of Marshfield entered into eternal life August 10, 2012 on the 68th anniversary of his Ordination. Fr Sheehy was born in Dorchester and was raised in Braintree. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth, Boston College and St Johns Seminary in 1944. Fr Sheehy was ordained by Richard Cardinal Cushing on August 10, 1944. His assignments were Assistant Pro Tem, St Bridget Church, Framingham, Assistant St Anne Church, Readville, Assistant St Mary, Star of the Sea Church, East Boston, Assistant Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester, a Chaplain of the US Army during the Korean Conflict 1951-1954, Assistant St Paul Church, Cambridge, Assistant St Mary Church, Waltham, Administrator and Pastor St Christine’s Church, Marshfield, Pastor St Mary of the Annunciation Church, Danvers, Member of the Pastors Evaluation Board, Parochial Vicar St Francis of Assisi Church Braintree and Senior Priest St Francis of Assisi Church Braintree. In 2006 Fr Sheehy was a resident of Regina Cleri residence, Boston and in 2012 he moved to Marshfield to live with his Niece Susan Farrell and her children Katherine A. Mulford and Charles W. Mulford so they could assist him in his daily needs.
Son of the late Charles D. and Mary (Sullivan) Sheehy. Brother of the late Arthur R. Sheehy and his wife Patricia (Decoste), and Eleanor L. Farrell and her husband Robert J. Uncle of Susan K. Farrell, Stephen M. Sheehy (Elin) of Alna, ME., Kevin Sheehy of Boston, Kathleen A. Camuso (Craig) of Hingham, Marie F. Dallhoff (Douglas) of Burke, VA., Brian E. Farrell (Joanne) of Southbury, CT., Ann M. Farrell of Marshfield, Michael P. Farrell (Patricia) of Hudson, NH., the late Robert J Farrell and the late Kathleen A. Farrell.
Fr Sheehy will Lie-In-State on Tuesday August 21, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in St Francis of Assisi Church 850 Washington St Briantree.
A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in the North Weymouth Cemetery.

Marisa was a life long resident of Marshfield and was one of the first female youth football coaches in Massachusetts coaching for the youth league in Marshfield for ten years. Marisa was also an active fan in her son’s sports from youth up through Marshfield High School.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St., Rte 139 Marshfield on Monday, August 20 from 4 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St. on Tuesday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery Marshfield.

Barrett, Jean P. of Marshfield, August 14, 2012 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Barrett. Loving mother of Janice Black and her husband Kevin of Hanson, Edward J. Barrett Jr. and his wife Manuela of Marshfield and Timothy Barrett and his wife Nancy of Duxbury. Loving grandmother of Brian, Bridget and Kasey Black of Hanson and Katherine Barrett of Duxbury. Dear sister of Richard Slein of Easton and the late Marjorie Slein, Mary Fordham and John Slein. Daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Ryan) Slein. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean was born and raised in Readville, MA. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Emmanuel College and her Master’s Degree from Bridgewater State College. Jean was a school teacher in Marshfield. She was a past member of the Marshfield Educators Association and Marshfield Women’s Club. Jean was also a member of the Linus Project and the St. Jude League.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal St., Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 p.m.

Sanders, Gregory D. of Marshfield suddenly August 16, at the age of 55. Loving husband of Barbara J. (Donegan) Sanders. Devoted father of Cecilia Sanders, Gregory Sanders and Caroline Sanders all of Marshfield. Loving son of Francis A. and Marianne (Gregory) Sanders of Marshfield. Brother of Francis Sanders and his wife Allison of Weymouth and Susan Sanders and her husband Eric Labs of VA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gregory owned and operated Osborn’s Country Store in Duxbury. He was an avid fisherman, boater and loved being on the water. Gregory was born in Waltham and lived in Marshfield his entire life. He graduated from Marshfield High School class of 1974 and University of Lowell 1979.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Tuesday August 21, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral from the funeral home Wednesday Aug 22, 2012 at 9:00 am followed by a funeral mass in St Christine’s Church 1295 Main St Marshfield at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
